Workouts on the Road: Santa Monica

I knew deciding to go on this road trip was going to create some logistical barriers for my normal daily routine. One portion of my daily routine that’s very important for me is regular exercise and physical activity.

Since COVID-19, we’ve all had to adjust to what our new “normal” is - including exercise. Normal gym workouts, barbells, heavy weights, machines, and cardio equipment have been a thing of the past for a few months now. I’ve had to adjust to doing workouts with minimal equipment, bodyweight, and other forms of physical activity (biking and running) to maintain my exercise routine.

The months of adjustment time I’ve had to adapt to my “new normal” have made doing workouts on the road simple, easy, and a fun part of my day I look forward to. Of course I miss throwing around a heavy barbell or hopping on the assault bike but,

Knowing I can do so much with so little is empowering. All it requires is a little creativity, a shift in your mindset, and the willingness to adjust to do what’s simple.

Here is a workout I did on the road while I was visiting Santa Monica, CA. I rode my bike down to the beautiful Palisades Park, rolled out a towel, and got to work!
